Who can use eSync Direct?

eSync Direct is available to all Barclays accountant and bookkeeper customers, and members of ACCA/ICAEW/ICAS/CIMA/CIPFA/AIA and ICB.

If you are eligible under the above criteria and would like to register for eSync Direct, you can do so online via the ‘Sign up’ button on the top right of this page. 

If you are not an ACCA/ICAEW/ICAS/CIMA/CIPFA/AIA and ICB member and you would like to register for eSync Direct, you will need to switch your banking to Barclays. Call our support team on 02476 842 170 and we can assist you with your account opening.

Getting started is easy

Follow these three simple steps to get started with eSync Direct.



Click on the ‘Activate’ button in your eSync Direct activation email.


Fill in the details on your profile page, then confirm you’ve read and accepted the Terms and Conditions. Activation cannot be completed unless you have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions.


Start using eSync Direct!

From the Getting Started page you can launch all of the services associated with eSync Direct.

To connect to Barclays DataServices, your eSync Direct Master Admin will need to enter the activation code we will send them in their welcome letter. This letter is sent by post 1-5 days after you register for eSync Direct. If your eSync Direct Master Admin does not receive this letter, please ask them to call customer support on 0845 366 6501*.

* As of 1 July 2015, calls to 084 numbers will have the service charge capped at 7p per minute plus your phone company's access charge. For example, O2's access charge is as follows: from mobiles, 25p per minute, from landlines, 5p per minute.. Calls may be recorded or monitored for our joint protection, staff training and audit purposes.

Your clients will need to follow the below process to authorise the data feeds


They will receive an email from eSync Direct notifying that you’ve requested secure and automated feeds of their Barclays Business bank transactions through the eSync Direct service.


They need to click on the link in the email which takes them to an eSync Direct authorisation site.


They will be taken to the Barclays DataServices site where they will be required to sign-up to confirm security details.


Once they have confirmed their security details they will be redirected to the registration token page which will contain a token code and allow them to complete the authorisation process.  An email will also be sent to your client containing their code. If they do not receive the email please inform them to check their junk mail box.


To complete authorisation your client will need to call Barclays DataServices on 02476 842 170 and quote their token code.

The client must have already registered for telephone banking to complete the process.

You should start seeing data feeds from your client’s Barclays Business bank account within 48 hours of your client’s successful authorisation.
